What Are The Minimum Age Requirements For Renting?

At most U.S. corporate-operated locations, renters must be at least 21 years old.

Renters must present:

-A valid credit card in their name (debit cards not accepted for under 25)

-A valid driver’s license (subject to driving record screening)

-Proof of an active personal insurance policy

Will I Be Charged I f I Bring The Vehicle Back Late?

We offer a grace period of 59 minutes past your scheduled return time (within our business hours). After the grace period, hourly fees will apply for each additional hour up to 3 hours. If the vehicle is returned more than 3 hours late, a full extra day will be charged at the current daily rate. To avoid additional charges, please contact us in advance if you anticipate a delay.

Why Do You Need Company Name? What if I'm Self-Employed, Retired or Unemployed?

We only request employment details if you do not have full coverage insurance and choose to purchase CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) through us. In such cases, we may also require:

-Proof of liability insurance (if available)

-A secondary contact for verification

If you’re self-employed, retired, or unemployed, you can simply enter that in the employer field and provide an alternate contact number.

This policy helps ensure responsible use of our vehicles when in-house coverage is selected.

Why Do You Need An Employer Phone Number?

As part of the general rental policies, we need an additional method of contact.  This can be an employer phone, mobile phone, or local contact information.  If you are unemployed, retired or self-employed, please enter “unemployed,” “retired” or “self-employed” in the company name field and provide us with an additional contact telephone number.

What If I Have a P.O. Box For An Address?

Our rental policies require a physical address in order to rent a vehicle.  P.O. Boxes are welcome as a billing address, however, a physical address (work, home or other) needs to be in the street address area.  If a P.O. Box is in the street address, we will inactivate the account until a physical address is provided. Please click here for more questions on general policies.

How Are Rates Calculated?

The rates are based on a 24 hour rental day starting with the hour you pick up the vehicle.

Using Debit Cards To Pay For A Rentals?

Yes, debit cards are accepted, but additional verification is required. You must present a current, paid utility bill issued within the last 30 days that is not past due. Please note: Prepaid and store-value cards are not accepted at pickup but may be used when returning the vehicle as a final form of payment.

Does NowRentacar.com Have A Lost And Found?

Service Rent A Car is not responsible for the loss or damage of any items, including electronics or personal belongings, whether left in the rental vehicle or during the rental period while driving. If you believe you've left something behind, please contact the location listed on your rental agreement as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee the return of lost items, we will do our best to locate and secure them. If an item is found, we’ll notify you when possible, and you’ll have 14 days to claim it. After that, unclaimed items may be discarded or donated. To increase the chances of recovery, please report lost items immediately.

What is the minimum number of rental days?

We require a minimum of 2 rental days for all standard bookings. However, if your personal vehicle is currently in the repair shop, we may offer a 1-day rental exception—just let us know when booking.
